Federal Building to Close

The Emergency Financial Manager of Benton Harbor is consolidating department locations, and while doing so Tony Saunders is closing the Don P. Mitchell Commercial Building. A release from Saunders office says the Federal Building will close Friday, March 8th. The City will issue a request for proposal seeking developers to lease the building Thursday, March 7th. An information session and tour of the building is scheduled for March 28th at 10:00 a.m. Because of the closure, the Customer Service and Payment Center, along with the Clerk, Assessor, Finance, Utility and Inspection Departments will be moved to Benton Harbor City Hall.
