State Senator John Proos wants career and technical education classes taken in high school to be able to count toward high school graduation requirements. He introduced legislation to that end earlier this year, and is pushing the idea outside of the Capitol.
That meeting was held at the Michigan Works Benton Harbor office, with Proos saying education shouldn't be a one-size-fits-all deal. He adds not all students are going to go on to a four-year college, and the CTE courses will help prepare those students for good jobs right out of high school.
