Some on the Benton Harbor City Commission are calling it a witch hunt.
That's Commissioner Duane Seats reading a resolution Monday night which asks for verification of all commissioners addresses. After hearing a rumor of the possibility a City Commissioner may no longer live in their district, Seats came forward saying if true it could mean legal problems for the city. Commissioner Juanita Henry took offence to the resolution and questioned Director of Public Safety Roger Lange how he'll handle the matter.
Just before getting up and walking out of the meeting in protest, Commissioner's Henry, Dennis Knowles and Trenton Bowens voted no on the resolution. Even after their efforts the resolution passed, but now gets final say from Emergency Financial Manager Tony Saunders.
