125 schools across Berrien County will participate in lockdown drills tomorrow morning, they will be used for training staff and students on what to do in the event of a gunman or other threat. For the school's taking part in the drills, the Department of Emergency Management calls the Berrien Regional Education Service Agency, who then contact all those schools principals. Sheriff's Deputy Karen Klug says the schools have a choice on what type of lockdown to conduct.
This is the first countywide drill since 2009, Klug says one will take place every two year from here on out.
The scheduled time for each drill varies from school to school.
