Election Results

There will be a new fire truck in Lincoln Charter Township, but voters rejected an operating millage for the fire department yesterday. The capital asset millage request passed, 860-818 yesterday. A second proposal of .325 mills to fund the operations of the fire department, however, went down to defeat by a vote of 854-827. WSJM News will have reaction from township officials coming up at noon and 5 p.m.

A new auditorium and gumnasium in the Berrien Springs Public School district will have to wait for another time. Voters soundly defeated a bonding proposal which would have allowed the district to borrow up to $10 million for the project. The district had sought a levy of 1.48 mills over 20 years. The "no" votes outnumbered the "yes" tallies, 896-522 in Tuesday's election.
