Witnesses Testify in Cold Case Murder

Court proceedings are underway in Paw Paw for a 2002 cold-case murder in Van Buren County. Ray Edward Barry is facing a charge of open murder in connection to the death of Chris Green, whose body was found stabbed in a roadside ditch in Geneva Township just over ten years ago. On Thursday, three witnesses were called by Van Buren County Prosecutor Mike Bedford, all of which said Barry had told them he had injured Green. In exchange to drop unrelated charges against himself, Barry's older half brother made contact with the suspect while wearing a recording device, he said Barry had told him what Green was saying while being stabbed. The trial was adjourned until a later date due to scheduling conflicts. Prosecutor Bedford didn't have much to say to WSJM News other than the victim's family deserves closure.
