Felonious Assault Arrest in Pine Grove Township

A Kendall area man is in jail after allegedly attacking his neighbor with a hatchet Friday night. The 44-year old male victim called Van Buren County Sheriff Deputies to the 26-thousand block of Country Road 388 in Pine Grove Township because he claimed to be assaulted by his neighbor. The victim had large cut to the head, he was treated and taken to the hospital. Deputies discovered the suspect and victim were consuming alcohol together when a heated argument started. The suspect struck the victim with the blunt back part of a hatchet. The victim was able to make it home and call the police. The 51-year old male suspect is lodged in the Van Buren County jail on the charges of Felonious Assault.
