We could have some big-time pain at the pump Friday. GasBuddy.com said late yesterday a rise to $3.99 a gallon could happen in Michigan sometime in the next several hours. A big spike in wholesale gasoline prices is blamed, with those going higher by 5% or 14-cents a gallon on Thursday to $3.09 for the Midwest. Prices at the pump typically run about 70 to 80 cents higher than that level, though they've been higher. WZZM TV in Grand Rapids reported earlier this week that a GasBuddy analyst said $4.25 a gallon by the end of the month might not be out of the question.
