MEAP Scores Level in Benton Harbor



Test results show Benton Harbor students did little if any academic movement in math, writing and science last year, however reading scores were higher for eighth graders. New data comes from the results of the Michigan Educational Assessment Program, also known as MEAP. Assistant Superintendent Tracy Williams told the board Tuesday night eighth grade reading rose 12-percent. District changes made last year may have prevented scores from improving, Williams thinks next year's scores will be better.

On the state level, Michigan students made academic gains in math, reading and writing, only science scores declining compared to 2011 results.
