The St. Joseph Public Schools Foundation is capping off a productive year of fundraising. Foundation Coordinator Christine Waterhouse is thanking all the generous donors and crediting annual fundraisers for allowing the Foundation to commit $200,000 over three years to the 1 to 1 Computer Initiative. Personal laptop computers were distributed to all six graders in the district.
That vision extends for years to come, the Foundations Wish List is aiming to overhaul the mathematics curriculum.
Social studies is said to be the next in line. Waterhouse says the Foundation is not just doing the fun stuff anymore they are helping out with what is needed.
