A new phase in the Aircraft Components Superfund Site is set to begin. Representatives from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency held and open house Tuesday night to touch base with citizens concerned with the progress of the groundwater cleanup. Jennifer Cheever with the EPA gave a short presentation that showed the next phase of chemicals that will be pumped into the ground to help diminish the contamination. Cheever says the open house went well.
And they got them, some citizens became quite vocal regarding some residents that may still drink well water near the site.
The site in Benton Harbor consists of 17-acres of land surrounded by the Paw Paw River, North Shore Drive and residential property.
