An investigation continues into a fire that happened Tuesday afternoon in Coloma. Just after 5:30, North Berrien Fire Rescue reported to a structure fire at 234 East Logan Street. The first crew was able to put out the blaze, damage was limited to just one unit. The fire originated in a trash can in the kitchen, however the heat source has yet to be identified. Smoking materials in the trash can are suspected to be the cause. Fire Chief Bob Ruff says our firefighters did a fantastic job of stopping the fire from spreading to the rest of the building. No one is reported hurt.
