A special benefit concert for the Carolyn McKnight-Tarwacki Scholarship Fund is happening this weekend. On Saturday, the Southwestern Michigan College Brass Band will perform at 7:30 p.m. in the Dale A. Lyons Building on the Dowagiac campus. Director of bands Dr. John Korzun says a ticket is $12.
Korzun says this is the third year of the benefit concert with each one raising more money than the last. In 2010 Carolyn Tarwacki and her husband John were killed at their Niles home, Carolyn was a long time member of the SMC Brass Band. The scholarship fund has been established in their name.
