Whirlpool is Getting a Gift From the State

The Whirlpool Corporation is being rewarded by the state for bringing its refrigeration research and development operations to Michigan. The Michigan Economic Development Corporation is giving Whirlpool $2.4-million through a performance based grant. Whirlpool is investing $18.9-million to renovate a facility on Riverview Drive in Benton Harbor. Greg Vaughn with Cornerstone Alliance says when a global company invests in a single community it impacts everyone.
