A program that pays extra attention to parolees and probationers in Berrien County is being extended. The County Commission adopted a contract between it and the State for fiscal year 2013, to continue the Swift and Sure Sanctions Pilot Program. Commissioner Jim Curran says this helps parolees reappear in court and do what they are supposed to do.
Curran says the program helps cut down on felony probationers personal hurdles, like penalizing them for violating drug and alcohol rules.
