Congressman Fed Upton voted Wednesday to approve a three month extension of the national debt limit. The Bill known as "No Budget, No Pay," requires the U.S. House and Senate to each pass a budget, and failing to do so results in pay being withheld for members of that legislative body.
The St. Joseph Republican tells WSJM the Bill had bipartisan support and is expected to pass the Senate.
At the end of 2012, the county reached its borrowing limit of $16.4 trillion. This action temporarily suspends the debt limit through May 18th.
