Next month the Michigan Grape Society and Michigan State University Extension will host a two day educational trade show. February 6th and 7th the annual Southwest Michigan Horticultural Days conference will take place at Lake Michigan College's Mendel Center in Benton Harbor. Mark Longstroth of the MSU Extension says for Michigan, this is the Super Bowl of the fruit and vegetable world.
Sessions on farm safety for fruit and vegetable operations, and how weather impacts fruit production are scheduled. Plus restricted use pesticide recertification credits have been granted. Early registration is $25 or $30 at the door. Registration begins at 8 a.m. educational session start at 9 a.m.
