The Berrien County Road Commission is giving Governor Snyder high marks for his proposed infrastructure investment. When asked how bad the roads actually are out there, Managing Director for the Road Commission Wayne Schoonover says they're bad.
Schoonover says county revenues are equal to those received in the year 2000 while the expenses have quadrupled. With the lack of funding, the problems pile up.
During his State of the State address, Governor Snyder proposed up to $1.2-billion for infrastructure upgrades. He said poor roads take a toll on vehicles, causing an average of $357 in repairs each year for family cars.
