The Process of Calling 911 is Every Evolving



Van Buren County Sheriff Dale Gribler is continuing his leadership as Chairman of the State 911 Committee. The Sheriff was reelected last month at the organization's annual State of Michigan 911 Committee meeting. The committee consisting of 21-members representing Fire, EMS, Law Enforcement, Communication Vendors, 911 Professionals, Local and State Government. Over his 14-years on the committee, Sheriff Gribler is most proud of the rules and regulation established for the way dispatchers work throughout the state.

The purpose of the committee is to ensure all residents of Michigan have access to 911 and to recommend the very best practices for delivering the service. Sheriff Gribler says next on the agenda is ensuring 911 Centers are capable to receive emergency call through text and video services.
