Jobs, people and good government is what Governor Snyder's agenda cover for driving Michigan's future. During Wednesday night's State of the State address, the Governor said Michigan is short roughly $1.2-billion a year to fix state roads. Generating $12-billion over ten years would cover the loss while also acting as an investment. State Representative Dave Pagel says the process to gain the funds could be difficult.
Poor roads take a heavy toll on vehicles, causing an average of $357 in repairs each year for family cars. Snyder says having quality roads reduces damages, makes driving safer and helps spur job creation by making Michigan more economically competitive.
