Joseph Harris's tenure as Benton Harbor Emergency Financial Manager is coming to an end and he's talking publicly about it. Harris held a press conference today in the newly remodeled City Council Chambers, where he gave a financial report for 2013, discussed water rates and the relationship he and the City Commission share. Harris hit on the financial problems that the city and its residents continue to face.
Harris praised his management team for their work and dedication. Also listed a number of accomplishments like revamping Public Safety, redoing a number of city parks and upgrading the Federal Building. Harris says he enjoyed his time here.
The state announced last week Harris will be replaced by Tony Saunders effective February 1st.
