The Benton Harbor Schools Board is Drawing a Line on Fighting



Last weeks 200 student brawl in the city of Benton Harbor has the schools board taking a stand. During Tuesday night's Board of Education Meeting, Superintendent Dr. Leonard Seawood hit on the events that transpired outside of school and in the streets of the city. He says the responsibility for the fighting that occurs outside of school lay in the hands of the entire community.

Seawood made note of progress the district is making in several facets, but says when an event like this occurs it drives current and future students away from the district.

When it comes to dealing with the students who were at the focal point of the fight Friday afternoon, Seawood says most of them will not step foot in the school again.
