Benton Harbor Area Schools is proceeding with an emergency loan request to the state. At Tuesday night's Board of Education Meeting, Superintendent Dr. Leonard Seawood presented three resolutions related to the districts financial survival.
A revised Deficit Elimination Plan, a Resolution for Emergency Borrowing and Approval of a Loan Application were all passed by the board. In June the district asked for $6-million from the state, but were only awarded two. With the action taken last night the remaining $4-million is being requested.
