Senator Proos is bringing prison costs down while keeping the public safe

Legislation sponsored by State Senator John Proos to protect public safety and reduce prison costs was signed into law by Governor Snyder on Wednesday. The "Swift and Sure" punishment program for parolees and probationers requires them to undergo frequent, random drug and alcohol testing so that treatment decisions are based on the probationer's behavior. Proos says this will cut costs greatly.
