The Michigan House and Senate have been sworn in for their next two-year session in Lansing. Among them is freshman Republican Dave Pagel, who is representing southern Berrien County in the 78th District.
Representative Al Pscholka is back for another term in Lansing, and says the focus continues to be the economy.
Wednesday's sessions in the House and Senate were ceremonial, as no votes are expected until January 23, a week after Governor Snyder's State of the State address next Wednesday night. Legislators were greeted by union protestors still fuming over last month's right-to-work vote, as they held pictures of the lawmakers who voted for it with the word "shame." They also delivered bags of broken cookies to Republican members of the House and Senate.
