Positive Money News for the Benton Harbor Area Schools Board



Good news is being shared to the Benton Harbor Area Schools Board regarding its 2012 fiscal audit report. Tuesday night, Superintendent Dr. Leonard Seawood announced the school beat its spending projection by roughly $1-million, which allowed for improvement in other financial facets.

That $17-million figure is how much debt the district is currently dealing with. Seawood mentioned how the state was quote "emphatic with there excitement" that the district is handling its deficiencies in a positive way, and also the simple fact that a budget had been turned in before its annual deadline.
