A former Berrien County Commissioner is replacing a current Van Buren County Road Commissioner as she chooses not to seek reappointment. Financial Advisor for Shoreline Financial Services W.C. Askew of South Haven was a Berrien County Commissioner for 15-years and now will be on the Board of Van Buren County Road Commissioners since current Commissioner Jean Stein is choosing not to continue serving. Van Buren County Road Commission Accountant Greg Pardike [[ par-dyke ] says Stein's services will be missed.
Stein has served since December 2003, her present term will end on Monday, December 31st. Commissioner Askew will serve as a liaison to District 1, which includes the Townships of Bangor, Covert, Geneva and South Haven.
