Car Accident in Pokagon Township Involves a Horse

The driver of a car that hit a horse on Wednesday is in the hospital but listed in good condition. Last night, 35-year old Krista Hartman of Dowagiac was driving M-51 just north of Wells Street in Pokagon Township when she stuck a horse that was in the north bound lane. Also in the car was Hartman's 2-year old son, Alexander Hartman of Dowagiac. The Cass County Sheriff's Office says Hartman was transported to Memorial Hospital in South Bend. The horse did not survive.
