Legislature Gives Final Approval To Right To Work Bills

Listen:

Right to work legislation is headed to Governor Snyder's desk for his approval. The state House has given final passage to the legislation after the Senate and House passed the bills last Thursday. Democratic Floor Leader Kate Segal of Battle Creek lost her temper on the House Floor after her motion to have the vote reconsidered during the next legislative session was denied, with Republican leaders saying it has already been enrolled.

Listen:

Roughly 10,000 people were gathered outside the Capitol to protest, and another 2,500 were inside during the 90-minute debate. The House got final passage of the bills after the Senate made changes last week. Chants of "Shame on you" and "Veto" were heard after the vote.
