Area kids who are sleeping on the floor won't be doing so much longer if they're on the list of recipients of free beds from Slumberland Furniture this week. Maryanne Perlick is the office administrator and says they will be sending out 8 free beds, along with sheets, blankets and pillows coming from Trinity Lutheran Church in Berrien Springs. She says people might not realize there are kids lacking such basic necessities in our as a bed..
In addition to the eight beds being donated locally, Slumberland is giving away roughly 2,000 beds throughout the Midwest to needy families. Their 40 Winks Foundation accepts donations year-round to help needy families get the beds they need in the dozen states the company has stores.
