Michigan Congressional Democrats Pressure Gov On RTW

Listen:

That's U.S. Senator Carl Levin, repeating to reporters what he told Governor Snyder Monday morning along with the rest of the Democrats from Michigan's Congressional delegation. The Democrats are trying to get the governor to veto the right-to-work legislation once it passes the Legislature this week, or get the vote delayed. Levin's brother, Congressman Sander Levin, negotiated with late Governor George Romney to get Michigan law to reflect that union membership is not required to get a job. The Senator said even though it's not legally required, union dues should be paid by even non-union employees because of the benefits they receive.

Listen:

State lawmakers are expected to hold their final votes this week on right to work. Thousands of protesters are expected at the state Capitol on Tuesday.
