Sentencing is set for January 7th for former New Buffalo City Clerk Sandra White. She was found guilty yesterday of embezzling $92,000 from the city's parking and boat ramp revenues. The "Herald-Palladium" reports the jury needed just two hours of deliberations to convict the 52-year-old of a single count of embezzlement, which carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison. White's lawyer does not think she will get a maximum sentence because she has no prior criminal record. She maintained she never took any money as she testified on her own behalf, and her defense lawyer said there is no evidence she had an extra 92-grand to spend. White said the discrepencies came from her not having the time to reconcile the beach parking revnues.
