A rewrite of Public Act 4 is likely to come up during the next three weeks in Lansing during the lame duck session at the state Capitol. State Senator John Proos of St. Joseph says there are parts of PA 4 that worked, like allowing the state to come in with assistance before an emergency manager is needed and those need to be included in a new bill.
Other items on the plates of lawmakers during lame duck include replacing the personal property tax and moving forward on healthcare reform now that President Obama has secured a second term and the Affordable Care Act will very likely not be repealed.
