Pastor Willie Lark didn't get enough votes on November 6, but did find enough support on the board for a spot to fill the term of Jeffrey Booker, who resigned from the Benton Harbor Area Schools Board of Education last month. Lark was among five people interviewed Tuesday night to fill the vacancy. Each candidate had a 15 minute window to answer three questions from board members, followed by closing comments. The board used a point system to mark the performance of each candidate.
That's Board Member Sharon James stating Lark is the newest board member. Booker resigned at the request of Lake Michigan College, his employer, over concerns of a possible conflict of interest.
