Alleged Drunk Driving Crash In Van Buren County

A Grand Junction woman is in jail after allegedly driving drunk. On Saturday afternoon, the Van Buren County Sheriff's Department says deputies were called to County Road in Geneva Township where a vehicle had rear ended another. Deputies investigated the crash and determined the Grand Junction woman had been tailgating the second vehicle. The front vehicle tried slowing down to turn into a private drive, the Grand Junction woman hit the back end of the car before the driver could do so. Witnesses told police that prior to the crash they saw the woman drinking, and she allegedly attempted to hide her beverage beneath a cedar tree near the crash scene. Two people were injured in the accident, but refused medical treatment. The county prosecutor's office is reviewing the crash.
