Trial Looming In Death Of Ivory Shaver III

Circumstantial evidence is prompting District Court Judge Robert Hentchel to send Antonio Lewis to trial for the murder of Ivory Shaver III. Lewis is the victim's half-brother and among the evidence cited by the judge is the fact he had Shaver's cell phone for several months after he disappeared last November, and text messages were still sent from it for those months. An autopsy was unable to determine the cause of death. Shaver's body was found in a drainage ditch next to a blueberry field in Covert Township in March, and he had been missing since November. He wasn't reported missing because other family members believed he was out of state, and text messages had gone to Shaver's fiancee from his phone after his disappearance indicating he was driving her car. The judge noted Lewis knew Shaver had sold that car to a Lawton man before his disappearance.
