Marijuana Grow Operation Busted In Covert Township

The Van Buren County Sheriff's Department has made a significant drug seizure. Officers eradicated over 1,700 marijuana plants from a wooded area in Covert Township along 38th Avenue, with a street value of $1.7 million. Officers found three areas where the trees had been cut and the land cleared for the pot. Right now, they think it may be commected to a similar sized grow op discovered on August 22 on 40th Avenue that had the same sort of land clearing, watering systems and so on. No suspects have been identified as yet, and police are urging anyone with information to call the Van Buren County Sheriff's Office, Crime Stoppers or Silent Observer.
