St. Joseph will be lit up throughout downtown this weekend. Friday will bring the annual Luminary Festival, and St. Joseph Today executive director Jill Stone says it's one of the most attended events of the year.
The event starts at dusk and runs through 9 p.m., with downtown shops staying open late with refreshments and all sorts of holiday gift ideas. If the weather is decent, there will be free horse drawn trolley rides from 5 to 8 pm. Stone says several stores are offering special deals, including DK Botique, Waterfront Framing and Fine Art, the Candlestick maker and Golden Brown Bakery to name a few. The Cook Nuclear Plant and Indiana Michigan Power are sponsoring the event.
