Pottawattamie Resort Burns

A massive fire has destroyed most of the Pottawattamie Resort in Hagar Shores. It started shortly after 6 Sunday night and consumed five of the seven cabins on the property. A lack of fire hydrants and wind gusts of 40 miles per hour and stronger hurt the efforts to battle the flames, and at least ten fire departments were called in to help. Firefighters and equipment were brought in from as far away as Lincoln and Royalton Townships, Paw Paw and Hartford. The resort has been a popular spot in northern Berrien County for roughly 100 years, and new owners had been working over the past six years to renovate the facility.
