Palisades Returned To Service

Palisades is back online. The nuclear power plant had been shut down starting Sunday afternoon for nearly 69 hours and was fired back up at 1 p.m. today. Palisades had to be shut down due to a steam leak that couldn't be fixed while the plant was in operation. While the power plant is back online, it's not yet at full power. Spokesman Mark Savage says reactor power levels will slowly be increased over the next several days until full operation is resumed. He and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission say there was never any danger to the public or to plant employees from the steam leak.
