New Details Released In Ryan Klund Sexual Assault Case

Former ABC 57 News reporter Ryan Klund is facing two felony criminal sexual conduct charges related to an incident at a party in South Bend in April. The 27-year-old is jailed in Berrien County awaiting extradition following his arrest and arraignment this week. Court documents indicate Klund allegedly sexually assaulted a female co-worker in the bathroom of an apartment during a party. The victim filed a report with South Bend Police on April 29. Both the victim and Klund admitted to drinking heavily that night, with Klund telling investigators he had no memory of the alleged sexual assault. Witnesses told police he had been flirting with the victim and several other female co-workers during the party at a home, a bar and the apartment where the alleged incident happened. DNA testing could not rule out Klund's genetic material in swabs taken from the victim's body.
