Indiana Michigan Power Prepared For Local Effects Of Sandy



Hurricane Sandy is set to tear up the Eastern Seaboard this week, and we're already feeling the winds in Berrien County. A wind advisory is in effect through 8 p.m. Tuesday, bringing with it the chance for downed power lines. Indiana Michigan Power spokesman David Mayne says the timing is probably best for us.

Mayne recommends having a stockpile of supplies in case we do suffer any long-term power outage from the storm.

I&M has sent 140 crew members to the Virginia and West Virginia area to help out there, as roughly three feet of snow could fall from the combination of another storm and Hurricane Sandy.
