Benton Harbor has a new bank. The Chemical Bank branch on West Main Street opened today with a ceremonial ribbon cutting. The bank's community president Bob Burch tells WSJM they put a lot of thought into the new facility.
The bank cost $1.2 million to build and is LEED certified for environmental friendliness. It has three offices, an drive-up ATM, drive-up teller service, Safe Deposit Boxes and a night depository. Burch says they're excited to be part of the revitalization of Benton Harbor.
Ground was broken this spring at the site after an environmental cleanup.
