Three Native American tribes in Michigan will share nearly four-point-two million dollars from the federal government. Pokagon Band of Potawatomi communications director Paige Risser says the money will be used for children's health programs.
The cash is being awarded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. The tribes will be given a check for the grant on Monday at a ceremony in Fulton. In addition to the Pokagon Band, the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi and Gun Lake Tribe of Potawatomi will share the money.
