The price of gas keeps falling around the state. Triple-A Michigan spokeswoman Nancy Cain says they're down more than a quarter in the past week.
Steady and falling crude oil prices are credited, along with the changeover to the winter blends of gasoline, which are cheaper. Since September 22, the price of crude oil on the New York Mercantile Exchange has fallen around $10 a barrel. The spot gas price paid by retailers in southwest Michigan is down by 40 cents a gallon since October 9, but has risen 20 cents since last Wednesday.
