Layoffs at Whirlpool's development center in Evansville, Indiana are being pushed back. The "Evansville Courier & Press" reports the Benton Harbor-based company told the state of Indiana the layoffs will be delayed from the planned date of November 23 to around the end of this year. A company spokeswoman says the move was prompted by changes in their business needs and the number of employees who have left for other jobs before the cuts. The Evansville facility will close at the end of 2014, with the work being done there moved to Benton Harbor.
