The city of Benton Harbor is waiting for word from the state on a three-million dollar emergency loan. Treasury Department spokesman Terry Stanton tells WSJM News no decision has been made yet.
Emergency Financial Manager Joseph Harris submitted the application last week as part of his plan to return the city to solvency. He says right now, Benton Harbor is far from it and without the aid of the state, draconian cuts will be necessary.
