St Joseph Changes Course And Will Seek 2015 Waterfront Film Fest

The city of St. Joseph is doing an about face concerning the Saugatuck Waterfront Film Festival. Over the past few weeks, City Manager Frank Walsh said the city wouldn't be trying to land it because he didn't want to steal it from Saugatuck.

Listen:

Walsh says the city is trying to bring the film festival to town for 2015 and 2016, saying the hotels and venues are booked already for next year and 2014. Festival organizers were in town this week, and Walsh says they expressed a strong desire to eventually hold the event in St. Joseph. Hosting it would cost up to 100-thousand dollars, which the city manager says would come from local sponsorships. Possible venues include St. Joseph High School, the Box Factory for the Arts and the downtown bandshell.
