The city of South Haven looks to be in a good position to get the Waterfront Film Festival next year. The event has been held in Saugatuck for 14 years, but organizers have been looking for another location in order to generate more interest. South Haven City Manager Brian Dissette says that word could come soon on which community gets the event:
Dissette says that South Haven has a history of success with large summer events, and bringing the Waterfront Film Fest to the area could lead to millions in economic activity. It's possible that the festival will be moved around to several Lake Michigan coastline communities in the coming years, so we may see it appear in South Haven, and then Saint Joseph.
