A Paw Paw woman could be facing charges after police found a couple of starving dogs on some property in Van Buren County. The sheriffs department says that the pit bull mixes were discovered chained up to a tree near an abandoned home in the 41 thousand block of Paw Paw Road on Wednesday. They had no water and only a small amount of dry food nearby. Also, their chains were tangled, which restricted their movement. The owner, when contacted, told police that she thought the animals were being taken care of just fine, but deputies determined they were in need of medical care, so they were taken to the Van Buren County Animal Control facility. The prosecutor is reviewing the case.
